BNCT Dosimetry Engine

At Pyramid, we've harnessed over 20 years of extensive experience in developing Proton therapy systems to create a flexible and versatile BNCT dosimetry engine. This system, while rooted in our wealth of expertise, is explicitly designed to meet the burgeoning needs of the BNCT community and adapt to various configurations.

The essence of our approach is providing you with choices. We support a multitude of dose models and detectors, empowering you to design your model using any blend of critical variables. Whether you're working with Neutron or Gamma Flux, Real or Estimated Blood Boron Concentration, Aperture Area, Distance to Surface, Proton Current and Energy, or Elapsed or Qualifying Time - our system is poised to cater to your specific needs.

Neutron and Gamma Monitoring

Our BNCT control system enables direct measurement of Neutron and Gamma flux generated by the source. Very tightly integrated software and hardware forms the backbone of the safety and dosimetry system.

• Counts Neutrons and Gammas and converts to delivered dose.
• High speed - up to 200 million counts per second.
• Built-in high voltage output and monitoring up to +/-2kV.
• Support for up to 8 separate detectors all with simultaneous monitoring.
• Customizable pre-amplifier for pulse shaping and baseline restoration.

Proton Flux Monitoring

In addition to Neutron monitoring, our BNCT systems can also monitor Proton flux and use real-time interlocks to check against expected and observed Neutron yields to catch a wide variety of potentially dangerous situations before they happen.

• Real-time Proton beam current and position monitoring.
• Fast response - from 10Hz to 100kHz data rate.
• Supports single or quadrant detectors with positional information.
• Sync with Neutron detection system to map Neutron/Proton yield accurately.
• Integrated high voltage for electron suppression rings.
